Oily clouds of intersecting past and future realities (i.e. the Soup) mutate people and spew forth horrors only lunatics could conceive.
Demonic-Laser-Bunny? Sure, go weirder. Weirder. Too weird!
WHO ARE YOU?
Apropos you. Survivors locked in a daily struggle to not get dissolved into the Soup. Your tribe the only bastion against muta-death. And now they send you out on a mission. Bummer.
Can you best the warping hell-scape of Earth or are you some thing's food?
